The Fitch® Fuel Catalyst is a maintenance free device
which easily installs in the fuel line much like a fuel filter. The
correct size unit is determined by fuel flow per hour and by the maximum capacity of the boiler.
HOW IT WORKS
After leaving the refinery, all fuels begin to degrade in quality. They are affected by oxygen, ozone and various microorganisms including yeast, mold and bacteria. The longer any fuel is stored before using, the more it degrades. Today’s fuel additives make this problem even worse! When the fuel goes through the Fitch Fuel Catalyst it is re-refined and its original quality restored thus enabling it to burn more completely.
First, the improved combustion resulting from the catalyst increases the heat output per gallon burned."This enables the burner fuel nozzle size to be reduced." Consequently less fuel is required to obtain the same BTU output.
Second, the improved combustion also means cleaner burning of the fuel. The burner will stay cleaner for a longer time. This means the burner system will maintain a higher degree of operating efficiency over a longer time period.
Installation of the Fitch Fuel Catalyst must be performed by a qualified technician. The special instruments and equipment used by the technician are required to ensure the proper installation and operation of the unit. The technician will assure that the proper nozzle size has been selected for the burner and that inlet air, stack temperatures, and soot levels are measured and adjusted correctly.
The fitch Fuel Catalyst is a is installed in the fuel delivery line and is a maintenance-free device with a guaranteed life of ten (10) years.
THE MAIN PROBLEM IS FUEL DEGRADATION
· The simplest and least expensive way to improve energy efficiency is to improve fuel quality.

· The average gallon of #2 heating oil is supposed to have a shelf life of 3 to 6 months; however, after just 23 days out of the refinery it can already be out of spec.
THE REFINING PROCESS AND THE CYCLE OF FUEL DEGRADATION
Crude oil enters the refinery where catalysts, heat, and pressure work to shorten fuel molecules, making them easier to burn.
· Once fuels leave the refinery they start to degrade— refined fuels want to return to their unrefined state as longer hydrocarbon molecules. Today’s fuel additives make this problem worse.
· During shipping and storage this degradation process continues.

The Fitch achieved at least a 10% reduction in fuel consumption without compromise in the boiler and furnace output. There was a reduction in greenhouse gas emssions as well.
Based on consumption figures provided by the Hatchery for the period of 1/1/2009 through 12/31/ 2009 and
the benefits provide by the Fitch would indicate a combined average fuel savings of approximately 389 gallons
of oil. At price of $2.60 per gallon, the dollar savings would equal $1,011.10 in the first year.
There were reductions in NOx, CO and CO2 emissions after the Fitch Catalyst was installed. This reduction of
greenhouse gases has a direct public health benefit and offers the potential for obtaining Emission Credits
especially if all State building reductions are aggregated. In both cases, there was no evidence of smoke residue.

Just a few words to let you know that we have completed our test using kerosene, gasoline, and old BioDiesel, using the same Fitch Fuel Catalyst. These catalysts are designed to be used for a lifetime, by the way, so no need to remove and replace them. Simply leave it in your tank. Testing of all the fuels (kerosene, gasoline, & biodiesel) we noticed the following:
1. Shorter pre-heating time. Knocked off 10 - 15% of the preheating time.
2. Bright light. Just looking at it, you will see a much brighter light. Totally, amazing!!
3. With old biodiesel (very thick - over 3 yrs. old) the lantern worked, flawlessly as though the biodiesel was brand new. Worked more like kerosene easier startup, bright/white light, and with no odor.
4. Decreased odors, and, in some cases, no odor.
5. Pumping time was decreased for all three fuels. . We did not have to add pressure to the lantern, for approx. 2 - 4 hrs. During the initial run-time of 8 hrs. Eddie only had to apply pressure to the lanterns 1 - 2 times.
6. Cleaner burn, around the mantle (glass did not fog up or build up) & no "pulsating" was observed.
7. Fuel Efficiency Increase: 1-Quart of fuel ran 1 - 2 hours longer, than normal.
Eddie uses these lanterns, while fishing, so he takes the opportunity to test new products, during that time. Lucky, fella!!!! Needless to say, BriteLyt, Inc. is extremely impressed, with the overall performance of the Fitch Fuel Catalyst.
Overall, I would recommend this product to be used in the lanterns we sell, as our testing was based on periods of testing the lantern for a 3-day period, at 8-hr and 12-hr. intervals. We used Fitch Fuel Catalyst in old fishing lanterns too, with excellent results.
